Gone Native is currently involved in a Camphor Laurel control program with Kempsey Shire Council.
This involves chemical control by drilling and injecting large trees and spraying emergent growth. These trees are being replaced with suitable native species.
We are also making use of native strangler fig species in trees that are in potentially dangerous situations(i.e roadside) making it impossible to control them with conventional methods.(For more details please refer to the Figs for Camphor’s article in our News and Resorces page).
This is an effective long term control also being employed by Maclaey Landcare Network.
